because im in australia im usually 8/10 hours ahead of everyone, coupled with my lack of waking up abilities this means i am basicl online when everyne else isnt...
Well, I had two options here: 1. put to the vote among those who participated in at least one event the time at which the bake-off should be run; 2. run two bake-offs. The second option is the one I like the most, nonetheless that means I must change the format of the bake-off. It can't be a simple puzzling for 15 minutes in a sea battle and compete against all those on the ship, but rather setting sail for N league points and recording the duty reports, because Leonelle probably is the only entrant of the Australasia time zone.

Re: Rigging Festival
Starting posting the solutions to the Rigging Quiz.
The puzzling competition and the bake-off are postponed until all the solutions will be posted. The deadline of Hook and loop is extended of one week.
1. Maximize the pull of the yellow chain by the NE pulley in two moves.
Solution:
6 Sparkywolf a1-c1 c4-c7
6 Blackseagull c4 to c6 j3 to c7
6 Aldeberan c4-c6 j3-c7
6 Benke c4-c6 c4-c6
6 Cagliostro c4-c6 j3-c7
11 Leonelle c4 to c7; e1 to e7
11 Yamel e1-c1 c4-c7
11 Azeitona e1-c1 c4-c7
11 Acerin c4-c7 e1-e6
As you can see, it was matter of spotting the gaff and attaching it to the yellow chain.
Sorry for Piratus, who built a brown chain.

Re: Rigging Festival
First adjustment to the results.
Sparky made a loop in the last question and it is actually the best solution!
I was not sure if such a pattern counted as a loop, cause it's not formed by a piece of the same colour but by the one the gaff pulls away. Aze tested it and confirmed that it is a loop.
So Sparky gets 22 points instead of 15.

Rigging Swabbie Transport Bake-Off
Atlantic League
Saturday 30, 07:00 PM Ascalon (GMT) time
Pacific League
Sunday 31, 07:00 AM Ascalon (GMT) time
This time we'll use another format for our bake-off, in order to allow people from different time zones to enter the contest.
We'll load a ship setting her to swabbie transport. The participants we'll take a rigging station and puzzle for the course of the route. At each league point I'll record their duty report, assign the following score:
You can't enter both leagues. So if you pick the Atlantic league, you won't be able to enter the Pacific league (although you can join the ride, just for fun).
Hook and Loop
New deadline: Febrary the 6th
Now accepting blue indicator!
Indicator will now work as a multiplier. So yellow and sparkling will give just more points.
Puzzling Competition
From Jannuary the 31st February the 6th
I need to see first who enter the bake-off before launching it.

good time for the bake off... i was worried that could be the same time of the big familiar contest (for those who dont know... sunday, jan 31th will have 1 familiars per puzzle and 1 yellow monkey for the overall at 1 pm game time)
the score for just 2 leagues? but with a lot of riggers at the same time... woulnd be to fast and hard to hit an incredible? (for normal peoples... lol) especially considering that we would probabily have a lot more of people in the atlantic one... would be better if it would be for 3 or 4 leagues?

The Puzzling Competition
This year the "Final Competion" is known as "Puzzling competition" because I thought it was cooler and more accurate. Why more accurate? Simple. No one really understands how the score works. Worry not! You only need to know what the competition is about: improving your standings. But if you really care to waste your time trying to decipher the scoring system, just expand the SPOILER thingy.
Starting ranking and score (A)

- Spoiler:
- How good are you?
A. Starting score
Each entrant receives a starting score based on his/her ranking comparing his/her ocean-wide standings to the other ones' according to the Festival formula.
Can you improve your standings?
B. Improving score
At the end of the week entrants' ocean-wide standings will be checked again. Each improvement will be awarded as it follows:
Distinguished to Respected: 1 pt.
Respected to Master: 1 pts.
Master to Renowned: 2 pts.
Renowned to Grand-Master: 3 pts.
Grand-Master to Legendary: 5 pts.
Legendary to Ultimate: 8 pts.
Ultimate: each position earned within the Ultimate rankings awards 0,2 pts. Positions lost don't count as negative.
Dropping in standings will result in the equivalent negative score (i.e. Master to Respected = -1 pts.).
A new ranking will be calculated according on the score so obtained.
Can you do better than the others?
C. Climbing score
At the end of the week entrants' ocean-wide standings will be checked again, listing them in a new ranking. Each position earned within the ranking will award 1 point, each position lost will award -1 point.
A new ranking will be calculated according on the score so obtained.
D. Final score
The sum of A, B and C.
Instant victory
Even if it's very unlikely, should someone get the #1 trophy during this week, he/she would be instantly declared winner of the contest and of the festival.
Note that starting with a low score is an opportunity rather than a penality, since low-rank entrants can earn much more points with B and C scores if they really work hard.
