Mmm... I believe you didn't read the user guide I sent you, didn't you? It would have been a good idea, but the carpet doesn't work like that.Azeitona wrote:if u (or anyone) want i can lend my flying carpet

Alright, Jimmy. Oyster Island on the Midnight Ocean is probably the place where we should look for. Anyway, before getting in touch with Tiram I would like to find a proof of what Cruxialx guessed. We must find that tombstone!

Re: Hic sunt dracones
According to my records one of the explorers needs only two maps one map in order to win the mission, while the runner-up needs six. Hurry up, the competition is still open.

Great job Orty, I'm kind of really glad this is over. Now lets go and find that sneaky tombstone!

Re: Hic sunt dracones
Three weeks have passed since Tiram's call for help and we haven't received any news from her during all this time. I start worrying about it. Even if we still can't confirm our suspects, I would like to get in touch with her and see if she's alright.
Can anybody reach Oyster Island and apply for the citizenship of that island while we keep on combing the atolls on Sage, looking for the Old Man's tombstone?

Re: Hic sunt dracones
Mmiimmii and I have just met Tiram.
She was talking to a swabbie named 'Sage Hunter' and this swabbie revealed that Tiram's father was once a famous and talented swordfighter.
It is suggested that with this information. We search the forums for the father.
I am slightly confused.

Re: Hic sunt dracones
Browses forums.
Finds something? Added to what Sage Hunter said, there is a pirate on the forums who has stated that he has met the old man, and that he is also a great drinker..?
And another. *quote from forums* ....I shouldn't even be telling you this.....
You have to pillage a crystal from red brigands in each arch, 8 in total. Once you do, you need to talk to Elgnit. Don't ask me where to find him. You trade him the crystals for a chart. The chart leads to a small undiscovered outpost island. It's there that the old man from Oyster has retired to.
He only awakens when you challenge him to a swordfight (supposedly in order to sustain his vitality). You've got one chance to beat him and obtain the broadsword that he fights with. I've already failed once....that thing has a wicked pattern. After that you're brought back to the Alpha docks and the chart is removed from your inventory. So if you want to try again, you're back at square one
As far as I can glean, no one has been able to beat him.

Interesting story. I am wondering why that swabbie knew so many details about Tiram's father...

I'm assuming that swabbies stayon the same island so she sees everything as it passes.. including the people. so she knows all XD

i too have heard these stories and others...and wonder if the swabbie Sage Hunter had been in contact with Old Man Oyster after he left ????
other swabbies on midnight have said....
Hushed voices speak of an old man that lives alone on an island near here...
They say that there was once a master swordsman who lived on this island, but that he disappeared one night.
also i have heard...He used to live all alone in a little shack just behind the curve of Oyster. If you were very quiet and happened to be the only one on the island, sometimes you could see him fishing in the cove. He'd dash as soon as he saw you though.
And then of course, the island was colonized. I don't think he much liked all the noise of construction. One of my hearties saw him slip off in a rowboat headed towards the south. Who know how far he went?
also...DubRub wrote: To answer your question, there is no old man on Oyster.
That's what he wants you to think. to tell you the truth, he's the one that told me the secret about the secret goron shrine in the middle of Hephaestus' Forge volcano to find the Master Sword and a fairy fountain... whoops I said too much
Anderson says ...I've met the old man at oyster, he is an ultimate sf'er and Drinker great way to get ye stats up
I also be checking out a song...called "streets of london" that was mentioned in forums...though one could change the name to ....pick an island...
well thats all i've got fer now
After thought...funny how the swabbies name is the name of 2 oceans..Sage/Hunter...just thought i'd point it out

Hic sunt dracones
here are the lyrics to Streets of London...written by Ralph McTell
Have you seen the old man
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the paper,
with his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride
And held loosely at his side
Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news
So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind
Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?
She's no time for talking,
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home in two carrier bags.
Chorus
In the all night cafe
At a quarter past eleven,
Same old man is sitting there on his own
Looking at the world
Over the rim of his tea-cup,
Each tea last an hour
Then he wanders home alone
Chorus
And have you seen the old man
Outside the seaman's mission
Memory fading with
The medal ribbons that he wears.
In our winter city,
The rain cries a little pity
For one more forgotten hero
And a world that doesn't care
Chorus
wahhh what a sad song
Have you seen the old man
In the closed-down market
Kicking up the paper,
with his worn out shoes?
In his eyes you see no pride
And held loosely at his side
Yesterday's paper telling yesterday's news
So how can you tell me you're lonely,
And say for you that the sun don't shine?
Let me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London
I'll show you something to make you change your mind
Have you seen the old girl
Who walks the streets of London
Dirt in her hair and her clothes in rags?
She's no time for talking,
She just keeps right on walking
Carrying her home in two carrier bags.
Chorus
In the all night cafe
At a quarter past eleven,

Looking at the world
Over the rim of his tea-cup,

And have you seen the old man
