Crew treasure ship - discussion.
Today we finally got our crew treasure ship, the ship where we store the crew money. The ships name is Conceited Muskelunge and it's ported at Wenslydale. If you want details please check this thread.
I am making this thread for some general discussion about the ship and I am starting out with these questions:
I am making this thread for some general discussion about the ship and I am starting out with these questions:
- What should we name the ship and is it worth spending the 6 shanghais for a rename?
The first name that pops up in my mind is "Glimming Box". I like how sounds similar to the "Strong Box", how it has the crew name in it and the name implies it's full of glimming gold. - what should the ship look like?
The colors are obvious, blue and yellow ofcourse! But it would be nice to furnish the ship too, to make it like a temple for our crew, as Benke said. I have furnished it with my Atlantean Statue a sword rack and a barrel. You can visit the ship right now to see it. - Should we use the ship to store other things for the crew as well?
We could store some weapons for use in pillages, in case some people only have sticks or their bare fists to fight with giving or loaning him a weapon could help our pillages and provide a valuable service.
We could also store advanced weapons, like a library, so in case someone decides to join a tournament he could get a sword from the ship. The advanced weapons will not be handed out to people we don't find trustworthy ofcourse.

You don't have to spend 6 shanghais, I suggest you spending some time on www.fishbase.org and checking if the second word (the noun) can be a fish name, cause in that case you only need 2 shanghais.Piratus wrote:What should we name the ship and is it worth spending the 6 shanghais for a rename?
Ours is an unpainted, plain sloop. I don't think you should invest too much in the appearance of the ship, especially at the beginning, where you'd better save money rather than spend it.what should the ship look like?
No. Don't you remember you had an officer in your crew who used to stole from ships? The access to the coffer must be restricted. The game mechanics offer you one solution only: lock the ship so that only the owner of the deed can access her. If you leave her unlocked any FO+ could access the hold and I don't recommend you that. You might want to entrust the deed to someone who bought dubs, cause in the unfortunate case that his/her character is deleted, the deed can be retrieved by the first FO+ who finds the ship... and you don't want to run that risk. You can store things, but in that case the duty of withdraw them and give them away will fall upon the owner of the deed.Should we use the ship to store other things for the crew as well?

True, I think I like your idea.Pishkirlin wrote:

Good point, the only thing I have done is to paint the sloop and I have used my own personal furniture, so luckily I havn't invested much in it yet.

That's very true, but I could easily lock the ship (and I will) and still use it to store weapons without risking others to steal them.
