I think this deserves a mention. The PS3 was recently hacked.

I think it lasted a very long time and it will be intresting to see if piracy on it catches on (Blue-ray discs are huge, so downloading them may not be an option for some) and if the quality of the newer games will drop as a result.

Personally, I got my PS3 a few weeks after Christmas and I was kinda happy it wasn't cracked. Wanting to be a developer myself I obviously will never have my own system hacked and it felt kind of safe that it wasn't. Now when it is, maybe the developers will go for "safer" titles and take less risks.

It won't be as huge as PC piracy, since it's not as simple and it carries some risks, like voiding the warranty and getting banned from online services.

why you don't add a program at the things that u will develop in the future that can spot hackers?
if u don't understand me, take Warrock as example.
if you download the game (it is online), you also have to install another program, called ''punkbuster'', in order to play the game. this program will find it out if you are hacking the game or somehting, and will automatically ban you in that case. but another problem is that it does not (always) work if you use mozilla firefox. what do you think?

when I said hacking, I meant that someone has broken the security on the playstation 3. So it will now be possible to pirate games on it. I know how Punkbuster works

Speaking of hacking.
I play a PS3 game called Uncharted 2 online, and I found some obvious cheaters.
Things like sniping me through 3 walls from the other side of the map and even punching (yes punching, because killing someone in meele gives more score) through walls and far away from me.
This was never an issue before the PS3 was hacked, but now there seem to be one of theese idiots on every 3rd game or somthing! God, how annoying!
