It is modern Greek. The music sounds a bit arabian-like because it's a song from the Greek minority of Cappadocia (Turkey).

Isn't there someone in the crew that knows a bit about mixing and that stuff, and that could insert a few cannonshots and swordplay in the doctor who theme? Maybe make the climax a little more grand?
