Now it is over I will post my 17
Obviously plenty of 16s about. Another last night actually that could have been another 17 if one last piece had turned up right, curses!

Got caught out by the anti spam so did not get the 17 image that was inevitable as you can see by the bits in the box. Furious f12ing getting nowhere when the real MP17 words appeared!
To prove 17 is certain I just made up how it works, in Photoshop.
The 'perfect' ult 17 is possible.
Now What the game really needs is a permission to grapple button in the carpentry window. Don't you just hate being on a good run perhaps 15 and going well and the scurvy captains grapple! Like a carpenter's warning do not grapple the ship will not take the strain! :lol: Until my MP run ends!

I am so cross!
I just did a 28mp run. 4mps ending one set, then a new set did the perfect 17, then another 7 mps.
Why ?
Failed to get a print screen of the 17mp! GRRRRRRRRRR Again!
Crept up on me did not even do the 16, saw 17 was imminent bashed key as I completed and it did not work, or I missed the key or something. GRRRRRRRRR.
Reboot was 5 mins later so I suppose it may have been a lag effect.
Throws self over the side to the sharks.

Annother 28! 15, set rollover, 13 then they grapple! :'(

Ok so the 15 rolled the set over then got to 14 (looking very good for the last few holes too, grrr) and the ship sank! In a blockade. New ship got to 9 before failing.

Crimson is full of normal pirates. And dubs to make at only 500-900 poe each for now.
The chat filter is hell though, objects to every spelling and typo mistake!
Other than that it is missing nothing worth bothering about, stupid poker and card games and betting, sinking. Don't even need rum for ships!

Had a bucket, filled the less common shape hole and look what turned up to replace it in the box.

Azeitona, Thanks. Yes I am sure 17 is the max possible. 9 stars, no more can be had so no more holes than 9 gives. To count more you have to carry on over a star board set change, but the MPs will not be numbered additionally but start at 1 again. So you can have a longer run but people have to take your word for it. The last board of a set is always the hardest or luckiest to get as you have no other holes left to put unsuited pieces.

I think there was a carp advice thread here somewhere already.
Weight working on one hole, while keeping the others happy or using handy or dumping horrid shapes in suitable spaces.
As the hole fills be very aware of the shape you are leaving to fill as much as you are just filling. Try to avoid leaving holes that only rare shapes will fill.
Hold on to putty buckets to fill that last hole whose piece won't come, or to get new boards quicker.
Work on non diagonally opposite holes if possible, or you have to complete 3 before you get new empty holes to use.
Know the frequency of the shapes, just common, middling and uncommon feeling is enough.
Once you have placed pieces there is one chance to lift and move a little bit (click the placed shape again to lift it once). So a miss click/roll can be corrected by a short bit or a roll. Except if you hit a league point it gets no move chance. (Grrrrrr)
If a hole is forced to be a non mp, still try to use the minimum of pieces to fill it.
Carp can go wrong on you, the pieces just not coming right, keep going, filling as economically as possible.
Shaking pieces have one turn wobbling which may be ignored if wanted, it will go frantic next turn, then only do you have to place something, but that one extra turn might have gained you the shape you need!
Don't take for ever placing each piece, speed is relevant to some degree.
Don't pause 'esc' to chat!
Do not carp short periods or station hop if concerned over stats.
Most of all forget all that and use the 'force'! Seriously. Let your eye and brain do it without thinking too much. Most above advice can fall away in the face of circumstance, or irritating runs of the wrong shapes in the box. Breaking such advice can be the right or only expedient, ( example; I frequently end up pushed into filling diagonal holes.)!

i needed the most common piece for the masterpiece 17... but didnt come, maybe next time xD

Well done Aze! Failed at 6th, good start was 3rd, then fell apart on navy restarts, curse porting.
You will have the same frustration at not getting the capture I have had with 17s until recently.
Those 17s are hell to get!
