Maligos from Glimmer of Light

I have an important question.
I wanna ask ( and i hope for it) when our flag will be active again? I wanna do blocades and other stuff which is imposible without alive flag Also i have to decline everyday a good amount of flag invites (which is not problem for me- allways loyal to Ascalon) but i'm sad about they consider you "death flag" and other chats which i don't wanna quote..

Please give me some opinion, what to do.
Also i will need advice what politic to turn the crew, because when i get more ppl will be hard on "Democratic mode" (which is turned automaticly from the game)

I am afraid that we wont be active as we used to be...
I wanted to play, but with work and college and just dont have enough time...
and i believe that something happened with most of the KoSG players...

Ah bad ;(( i'm at university too but i have some spare time mostly at the end of weekend

its because i am in college/work/gym/other acttivies for 7am till 22:00 every week day, in the weekend is the only time that i have to study and see my girlfriend... so pp lost some space

but i still log on somedays just to see how is everthing going
and i check this forum everyday hahaha

As I said in the other thread, you are free to leave. We are indeed a dead flag (I thought the theme of this forum was eloquent enough about that) and people roaming on this forum are mostly ghosts.

The crew politics turn to democratic when the Captain and SO go dormant. As soon as you come back from dormacy you should revert it to autocratic, but it won't be easy at all because you know need the vote of half plus one officers holding a badge.

but why ( i don't wanna leave.....i was here since i started play Sage ocean... Is it so bad if i wanna cade some tiny island in non-high populated island ??

I think what he is afraid of, is that this will end up with some flags to declare war to us, and that wouldnt be nice for some lonely pirates in flag that like to do their trips... they could be afraid of getting sink and everthing...

I think thats not good point, i know alot of people/crew/flags who govern islands or who took island soon and their are not in war in meaning you point.. For example flag Capy those days defended Admiral from blocade and their are not even declared war from both side...

Its only that someone could declare war... we already had the problem that a flag declared war against us, and wanted to hunt and sink some of our boats, because one of our crew member beat one of them in pvp.
Now that there are just a few people playing, we have some members who do their trips alone, moving fruits and others, and have some flag hunting them is not an opticion..

Guys, it is not about war.
There is actually nothing bad in trying to blockade an island. I must confess I have been tempted by the idea a lot of times. Nevertheless I ultimately had to give up. I was not afraid of doing it because of the consequences (war and such), but rather because I realized it requires resources and preparation we simply didn't have.
Once we entered a major blockade event with island giveaway and in spite of the terrific job we did, we lost because of lack of jobbers and blockade staff. Ask yourself how many skilled officers can you count on. I guess you know you need at least an admiral, a jobbing contact and a bunch of bnavers and XOs.
Guys, we are a small flag with no allies, riches and human resources: we have no chance of winning a kade without pulling a gigantic effort. And most of us at the moment can't.

I know GoL never betrayed Ascalon (well, actually once the crew left the flag and then came back causing half of the members leaving the crew) and it would be a pity if your crew decided to leave, but I can't ask you to stay as long as we are inactive. I haven't logged on in mounths and I don't play the game since August 2010.

Maligos, you are really a nice person. I do appreciate your loyalty and I meant you could start looking for a new home only because we can't offer what you are looking for right now. The idea of GoL leaving Ascalon saddens me a lot since you belong to this flag since the very first day the crew was established, but alas we really can't afford a blockade. For your good, you should consider moving to an active flag, in my opinion.

I will move to other flag only for reason i want participate blocade. Wow, I went to this site for the first time in months, and I read all of this stuff. It's amazing that Maligos managed to turn the crew around and I really felt like going back to it. Then I read this, about him leaving, and I remembered all of the emotional baggade from this game. Lost friends, etc.
Still, I might log on sometime.
P.S I Also miss Pishk and his brilliant games! As I recall, I was even going to make a "mission" of my own!

Nice to see you around, Piratus. Nowadays only Azeitona and a few others keep on checking the forums regularly. I myself tend to forget logging in for weeks, nonetheless - just like you said - the memories of the time we spent together are still vivid and overwhelming... heck, if I miss the old good days of the glorious Ascalon!

HEY mate!! Happy to see ya!! i'm still sad I had to leave Ascalon :X Crew is going well, but you miss me friends! I will be very happy if you start play again! As you maybe know they will merg the Hunter and Sage ocean in january 2012!!

To declare a blockade on an island, a flag must first declare war towards the flag owning the island. The island owning flag can return the war dec (which makes the blockade sinking) or not return it (which allows the blockade to be non-sinking.) This is part of the advantage given to the defenders of the island, since the attacker gets to choose the timing of the blockade and has an advantage ocean side once inside the blockade board.
You cannot take down the war declaration until I believe 10 days after the blockade. During this time it's possible for the other flag to at any time also declare war towards you too (even in the middle of a blockade) and put you into a full scale war.
Many untrusting pirates in the past have claimed to keep a blockade non-sinking but then gone against their word and returned the war dec to make it sinking. Or, they have kept the blockade non-sinking, lost the island and then accepted the war dec to attempt revenge on the other flag. Anything is possible when you're playing a social game, becareful of who you trust.
