Grand Frigate pilly
We are planning to take out our GF for a pilly next week. This thread will have purpose of keeping us all updated about this event. One is for sure, it will be great honor for us to have our flaggies on board that day.

Re: Grand Frigate pilly
I wouldn't mind coming but I really hope you are aware of how long loading a GF could take. How about starting with a WF first and then see if you can load a GF as well?

Re: Grand Frigate pilly
The goal of this mission is to load and set sails of GF. We know that we need 150+ people on board so we will post a job and wait for jobbers. If we don't get enough people then we will move to smaller ship and leave GF for some other day. Of course, nobody among crewmembers and flaggies will not sit one hour on GF waiting to fill up, we will just give you a tell when we are (very) close to deport.
Anyway, does anybody have close figures about how many cannonballs and rum we need on GF?

For the rum, I'd suggest using Quartermaster which has a nice tool for calculation of how much rum is needed on each class of ship depending on the lenght of the voyage.
As for the cannon balls, multiply by 2/3 the number of cbs needed to max your average enemy (GFs=18 large) and by the number of battles you think you could fight.
SInce I don't think you will ever manage to fight more than 5 battles on a GF, I'd say something between 180 and 270 large cannon balls.
EDIT: I'm not very familiar with ships with double shots... maybe 3/4 times the amount of balls needed to max enemies could be a better idea.

Benke , Who should be the Bnaver ? :?:

And the same with gunners , We need very great gunners for this.

You also need parlour tables and/or tournament boards. People will otherwise get bored waiting.Zpore wrote:We probaly need a very great bnaver for a GF Pilly.

Benke , Who should be the Bnaver ?
Captain said that he would like to give it a try
It's small crew and nobody don't have experience with such big ships (still didn't had chance to spoke with Gallo about that, he is active on other oceans...). Anybody from Knights of Saint George already bnaved GF? As a last resort we can invite some of Frame's hearties, she apparently knows some legendary bnavers that may help. Putting somebody with experience into the crow's nest to coordinate with bnaver will also help...
We need at least 6 gunners and with crewmembers, flaggies and other 100+ people onboard I believe we will no have problem find few decent ones.

I am afraid that people will then start playing poker and tournaments and then when we ask them to stop because we are going into a pilly they will left ship so they can continue their games in inn... Let's try without tables in a time where's no or little SMH, flotilla and blockades and see how it's going.
As I know, Glimmers never before goes out with GF so now when we have chance to do that it will be pitty not to try it. And if we don't make it to set sails in a first attempt we will for sure continue trying. It's something new that we would like to try, we are all looking into it and nothing bad can happen.

Re: Grand Frigate pilly
Nobody, I guess. Nonetheless I don't think GFs are much more different from any large ship. By the way, I know Rubydeath is quite confident with WFs though, maybe you could ask her for help.Benke wrote:Anybody from Knights of Saint George already bnaved GF?

Re: Grand Frigate pilly
We will give it a try at next Tuesday around 22h CET. A little bit late for us from Europe but we hope that lot of people will be online so better chances to fill the ship. SO Gallo, legendary on Malachite, will be our bnaver. We may deport already with 55 onboard.

Ok, I'll try to be there too but what about starting jobbing at 21:30 CET, then?
* for people not familiar with CET, that's 9:00 PM GMT / 1:00 PM game time

Re: Grand Frigate pilly
As we expected, not enough jobbers so we ran pilly on a smaller ship. But it was fun, especially trivia time
Better luck next time.

Re: Grand Frigate pilly
Heh, we made it Only 60 people aboard but it was good with 3 battles won and no lost. As soon as we obtain another GF we will put one on foraging and 2nd one will be used for pillies.
